The Undead, or Forsaken, are a race found on the horde side of the game.   This race has a special regen trick in the form of devouring nearby corpses. When they do this, they gain back health and mana.  This Racial trait is named cannibalize. They also can spend a longer time underwater without fear of drowning than any other race in the game on either side.

As with every race in the game, there is a specific start area for the Undead/Forsaken.  Located on the continent called Eastern Kingdoms, the Undead/Forsaken start in Tirisfal Glades, which is also home to one of the major cities for the Horde, called the Undercity.

This race can be a number of different classes within the game, but as with all, there are some restrictions.  If you choose to play an Undead/Forsaken character, you can play as a Death Knight, a Hunter, a Mage, a Priest, a Rogue, a Warlock, and a Warrior.  This race cannot be a Paladin, a Shaman, or a Druid.

One of the races offered on the Alliance side for WoW is that of Night Elf.  These characters are graceful looking and tall, with the typically pointed ears that most people expect from elves, combined with pointy eyebrows, skin tones mainly in blues and purples.  They are quite tall and lithe, seeming to possess a natural grace and strength.  This race is very in tune with nature and their start area is on a forested island.  They have their own city called Darnassus, which is located on their island on the continent of Kalimdor.

As with all races in the game, they have unique advantages not offered by others, referred to as racial abilities. If you choose to play a Night Elf, you will gain such advantages or racials such as the ability to fade into shadows. With the click of a button, you can fade from view of basically any and all creatures in the area, which can be handy in tight spots.  Night elves are also designed to be harder to hit than any other race in the game which can be an asset when grouping with others. When your character gets killed, the Night elves are unique in that they transform into a wisp which helps you to move back to your corpse much faster than others.  They are also quite resistant to nature damage, and can move at a faster pace than others when stealthed.  Although the racial abilities are not important enough to make or break a character, it is still handy to know what little extras being a Night elf can provide before choosing to make toon.

As with all races in the game, the Night elf does have some limits on what class they can play, although you have many to choose from.  You can play as a warrior, a rogue, a priest, a death knight, a hunter, a mage, or a druid as a Night elf.  If your heart is set on either a paladin, a shaman, or a warlock, I’m afraid you will have to turn your gaze to another race.

Wow Name Generator.

World of Warcraft by Blizzard Entertainment, more commonly known as WoW by its player base, is a popular MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role-playing game) that has millions of subscribers around the world. There is an extremely vast and interesting world provided to players to explore, kill monsters or other players, and with two separate factions, as well as 10 different classes to choose from, the experience is unique to each individual. Players can choose to be Horde or Alliance, depending on the type of play style that appeals to them. Horde tends to be considered the “evil” side for the game, whereas the Alliance tends to be considered “good.” There are many players who are very loyal to one side or the other, and swear they will never roll (create) a character on the opposite faction. Of course, there are also plenty of players who are neutral and have characters, or toons, on both sides. The experience is different for each side and to truly appreciate the game, one should at least raise one toon from 1 to max on both sides. Both factions offer distinct races, and not every race can become every class. For example, on the Alliance side the Draenei race cannot be a rogue, warlock or a druid, and on the Horde side, the Blood elf cannot be a Shaman or a Druid. If you are looking to play a specific class, you may be forced to choose a race that is not your favorite in order to get the class you want.

The Alliance races are Draenei, Dwarf, Gnome, Human, Night Elf, and Worgen (the newest race). On the Horde side, players can choose from the races of Blood Elf, Goblin(the newest race), Orc, Tauren, Troll, and Undead. Each race has its own advantages, such as resistances to certain types of damage, increased skills or reputation gains, or greater expertise using different types of weapons. These racial bonuses are an interesting part of the makeup of a character and can provide a boost depending on what you are hoping to achieve.

The game has three distinct roles to be played: Tank, Healer, and Damage (or DPS). This is where the ten different classes come into play. Each class excels in at least one of these areas, and many excel at all. With 3 different talents per class, the choice of what role to take and how to play the character are extremely individual and interesting.

The classes are as follows:
Death knight – A class that can serve in the role of Tank or DPS.
Druid – This class excels in all three roles: tank, healer, and DPS
Hunter – This class can only perform one role, that of DPS.
Mage – This is another class that can only perform one role, that of DPS.
Paladin – This is another class that excels at all three roles: tank, healer, and DPS.
Priest – This class make exceptional healers and can provide excellent DPS.
Rogue – A class that can only perform the role of DPS.
Shaman – This class can be either DPS or healer.
Warlock – The role of DPS is the only one a warlock can take.
Warrior – This class make great tanks and powerful DPS.

A name generator is exactly what it sounds like: a tool used to give you a name. Why would anyone use such a tool? Well, there are plenty of reasons. For example, if you want to sign up for a service that requires your full name but you don’t really want to give them your true identity, you can turn to a random name generator to pick a first name, last name, and even a middle name if you need it. Its easier than trying to make one up on your own.  There are also plenty of name generators out there designed to create interesting, unique, and often hard to spell names for fantasy literature and games.

There are many fantasy type games online today. Games like the Final Fantasy series, World of Warcraft, EverQuest, and a host of others take full advantage of the popularity of the fantasy genre. When you play with other people you want your name to sound authentic:  Bob Jones doesn’t have a true ‘fantasy’ character name. It’s not always easy to come up with a unique name that someone else hasn’t already sniped. Also, some games are very particular about the names that you use in game. You cannot have characters with names featuring copyright material.  There are many people who have a hard time being completely original and not being able to take favorite character names from movies, television shows, other games, and so on limits the field.  This is where name generators come in handy.  Many of them give you a wide variety of options. If you want a short simple name, you can find one, if you want a much longer, more complicated one, you can find those too (just don’t forget how to spell it when you try to send yourself mail in game!). You can also find options that allow you to have names based on insults as well as ones based on jokes.

When you play online games you want to make a persona for yourself. You want to be an individual with a unique name instead of one of many with a different spelling of an extremely common name.  If you can’t find one for yourself or if the one you want is already taken, why not turn to name generator to help you.  They are easy, convenient, and free so you have nothing to lose.

Fantasy everywhere these days. It is an extremely popular genre in literature but is far from limited to books alone. Fantasy has, over the years, begun to appear in our mass media making an entrance into the TV market through a numerous television shows. It has also appeared in many children and adult cartoons and movies, and has even infiltrated our music and painting styles. Perhaps one of the most popular uses for fantasy today is in video games. Games like the Final Fantasy series have long been making the genre into a household name, and that is not the only game to take advantage of this ever popular theme. MMO’s such as EverQuest, World of Warcraft, and numerous others offer fantasy role playing to the general masses. And since many of these games have 100’s of thousands, if not millions of subscribers, there is no doubt that the fantasy genre is gaining notice and becoming more popular with every passing year.

Traditionally, fantasy stories involve magic, paranormal creatures, terrible monsters, and sometimes different, unfamiliar worlds.   This form of literature has been around for a long time, going back even as far as Homer in ancient times. In his story you will find mention of many fantastical beasts and creatures that his heroes encounter.  In more recent times, books like The Lord of the Rings series have made their way into the hearts and minds of millions. The movies based on these books are some of the most recognized in the world and have made fans out of many whom until then avoided fantasy. Of course, fantasy has never been simply limited to literature. There are lots of artists who paint and sketch amazing, sometimes terrifying, creatures that could only be described as fantasy creatures. Some of these artists and enthusiasts find themselves in other lines of work, making video game creatures to entertain the masses.  Games like Final Fantasy, World of Warcraft, and many others take full advantage of the popularity of this genre and have many talented, passionate people working for them. They give us fantastical creatures to fight or to play as, different worlds to explore, and magical powers to abuse. Is it any wonder that these games attract and hold the hearts and minds of millions of players?

Something that holds true for almost any fantasy story, in whatever form it takes, is that the characters you find contained within generally do not have common names.   You won’t often find names like John, Sam, or Amy in these types of stories, although, depending on the setting, you may find a few common ones creep in now and again.  Even the names that appear almost common are often spelled in a different, less familiar way than we are used to. Fantasy names don’t have any specific set of rules, and often, the more outlandish the name, the better. There are some mythologies and rules behind some stories, or authors may go with a set pattern, but honestly, if you want a fantasy name to sound authentic, just use your imagination. Or, if in a pinch, use a name generator. They are great tools to help you find a name, or at least get your imagination working in the right direction to help you come up with a name on your own. The best thing about fantasy names is that there are no hard and fast rules and pretty much anything goes, so feel free to be creative. Go with sounds that you like, consonants you find interesting or appealing, and stick them together to make a truly unique and interesting name.

Fantasy name generators are used in order to help you to pick a name for your fantasy character for games, literature, and other things. It is a very useful tool for those who are uncreative in their name choices and who do not want to have a name that is common or foolish.

Often, names are generated from lore or literature associated with various mythologies. Hero stories are an extremely popular source for interesting names.  Fantasy name generators will often give choices for male characters or female characters. They usually offer the choice between a long and complicated name or a short, easy name.  The names that will be generated are not names that will appear in normal, everyday life. They are strange and complicated, often foreign sounding, due to the nature of the use for such names.

World of Warcraft is a popular online game from Blizzard Entertainment. Often referred to as WoW, it is an MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role-playing game) that has millions of subscribers around the world.  Part of the appeal to this game, as with other MMO’s, is the chance to play and interact with other players.  The game is not dependent upon interacting with anyone- you can play to max level without ever speaking to another person in game if you chose to do so – but the game has been designed around playing with other people. Often quests require you to group in order to finish them to receive great rewards. Dungeons, or instances as they are often referred to, are meant for groups of 5 players and the end game content, called Raids, have been designed for 10 -25 players. Neither of these can be run solo, and require grouping in order to experience this aspect of the game.  WoW also has a guild system. Players join guilds in order to chat, make friends, form groups, raid together, and many other things. The guild system has recently been updated and players now get rewards and benefits from being part of a guild, such as XP bonuses for leveling.

At the launch in 2004, the game allowed players to reach a maximum of level 60. This version of WoW is often referred to as “vanilla WoW” and many of the “hardcore” players often long for these days, as the content was more difficult and less “noobish.” Several years later, in January of 2007, The Burning Crusade was launched, and bumped the maximum level to 70.  This expansion, referred to as BC, added a new area called outlands that could only be reached through a portal, and also added flying mounts to the game (at the time only max level players could fly.) This was followed in November of 2008 by The Wrath of The Lich King which added a new continent to the world of Azeroth called Northrend. The maximum level was increased to level 80, and cold weather flying (available only at level 77 at launch) was necessary for players to fly their mounts.  Blizzard Entertainment recently launched another expansion for WoW in December of 2010 entitled Cataclysm. Players can now reach a maximum level of 85 in game.  The game is constantly changing, and Blizzard is forever coming out with new large “patches” which effectively make wide scale changes to the world.  With the launch of Cataclysm, the “old world” from “vanilla WoW” was effectively changed forever, making this new version of the game something new.  One thing is certain: As long as the game remains popular, it will forever change and grow.
